When the girls arrived I asked if they saw the moon last night. Indeed they did and they were as enchanted by it as I was. The moon is especially close to the earth right now. It hasn't been this close since 1948. Tonight will offer another chance and tomorrow is the actual Perigee Moon.
Everyone lined up to fill the mugs that they made last week with hot cocoa.
Our first project of the day was bird's nest photo holders. The nests were given to us by a mighty mom and we were excited to incorporate them into our workshop. I got the idea from these Pottery Barn place card holders.
We then took a refreshing hike. The morning group decided to bring along my pocket microscope to take a closer look leaves and mushrooms. We hiked to one of our favorite parts of the creek and on the way back a few of the girls decided to climb trees.
Our secondary project was an up-cycled snowflake made from cardboard tubes.
The girls wanted to squeeze in another project so we made dry snow globes from salt shakers just like the ones sold in Anthropologie stores.
And always...S'Mores!!!!
