Free spirits have to soar..." - Ziggy Marley
It was one half New Year's celebration and one half mini workshop and it was a LOT of fun! It was the first snow of 2014 so I made a few ice lanterns to line the path to our workshop.
The girls arrived and we began our celebration. I made a batch of tropical smoothies and served tortilla chips with fresh salsa.
While the reggae dub played on continuous loop, we dug our hands into some wool and began making felted dreadlocks.
There was also some spontaneous dancing!
Happy New Year, girls!
PS - Here's the smoothie recipe that you asked for:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 c frozen pineapple
- 1 c pineapple juice
- 1/2 c coconut milk
- 2-3 c ice
Blend smooth and enjoy!
This party is dedicated to John O'Donohue who finished his work on earth on this day in 2008. His words have infused my life with beauty and wonder. I'm eternally grateful.
