Special announcement!
I will be hosting a mini make n' take workshop to celebrate the new year!
Wintry Week 4: Last Class
Winter is the best time
to find out who you are...
to see that inner landscape,
that place hidden and within.
- David Budbill
Early in the morning I prepare for the girls' arrival...
When they arrive, we warm up with hot cocoa. Cheers!
Our first project of the morning was beaded snowflake ornaments. They make wonderful whimsical gift toppers and look lovely hanging in a window.
*An interesting experiment with water crystals by Dr. Masuro Emoto, you will LOVE it and you will never look at snowflakes the same way again.
And crystal art created with the music of Tchaikovsky by Japanese artist, Tokujin Yoshiok.
Our second project of the morning was clay feather ornaments. These ornaments are turning up in stores all over town. They are super fun to make!
Our last project of the morning was felted soaps. Wet felting is a Mighty Girl Favorite and the most requested project in the Wintry Workshop.
Afterwards the girls took a few moments to explore the Tankdrum.
We finished our last class of the wintry season with a special ceremony.
Then I gave each of the girls a lucky sea-bean ( also known as a driftseed). The sea-bean has been treasured as a good luck charm for hundreds of years. These seeds came all the way from Borneo and can float on the ocean current for years, even decades and still germinate when it reaches the shore.
We warmed our cold hands and...
celebrated with S'mores...
then said our goodbyes.
Have a happy holiday season, girls!
YOU are the greatest gift this world has ever known.
Made so & rooted by love,
Wendy

Punctual Snow
And still the pensive spring returns,
then we bundled up and headed into the woods for our nature walk.
Refreshed and recharged, we returned to the studio to begin working on our canvases.
The girls removed the paper pulp to reveal their images. Our theme for our canvas is giving. What are our gifts? How can we share our gifts with the world?
They embellished the canvas, with paint and collage.
Inspiration moves in mysterious ways, suddenly the girls began to sing and it was angelic!
We sought wisdom from the "Guide for Advanced Souls"....
then we decided to do a quick releasing ceremony before the Thanksgiving break. Each girl wrote down a grief that she wished to let go of then tossed the paper into the fire. We celebrated with S'mores.
Here we nourish the creative life,
here we howl! - Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD
Have a wonderful holiday, girls!
See you in two weeks...
